icy cold

This morning when we woke up, it was only 1.3 degrees outside, and I don’t think it was much warmer in our house to be honest. Mayana’s room was 13, and that was with the heater on! It was flipping COLD!

Anyway, snuggled up in my warm bed with my feather doona, I made the decision to let Pete take the car for the day: sure beat the thought of me having to get up, get Mayana out of bed and into the cold air to take him to school! Our car was covered in ice! He couldn’t see through the windscreen, and the wipers just weren’t cutting it – so he’d come back in for a jug of hot water. I think we’ve only had a couple of instances of frost in the 3.5 years we’ve lived here, and never like this! Maybe we’re in for a true, old-fashioned Toowoomba winter…
