Hi I'm Zoey!
I started this blog a couple of years after I got married, mainly as a tool to procrastinate from the university degree my husband and I were in the middle of. This little corner of the internet has documented the adventures and the mundane moments between now and then. Here are some highlights:
2009: We welcomed our gorgeous daughter, Mayana, into our lives. She is now 5, a big Prep girl, incredibly clever, confident and amazing and a constant joy to our lives.
2010: My husband and I graduated together! We each became the very proud owner of a Bachelor of Education (Primary & Middle).
2011: We relocated after I was offered a teaching and curriculum-writing job in the Distance Education department of a Christian School. Peter became stay-at-home-Dad to Mayana and had an amazing year filled with making memories, building chicken coops and play kitchens, getting awfully domesticated, playgroups, and being the most awesome Papa around.
2012: We switched roles. Mr Reuben joined the family in April and I became the stay at home parent. Peter accepted a job as a kindergarten teacher and has absolutely found his calling. He is beloved. Reuben is now two, and is the boyest of boys, with the most wicked giggle, a penchant for anything with wheels and a heart of gold.
2014: The latest addition to our family is the gorgeous Quinten. He was born in March and I still can't believe that I have three children and that two of them are boys!! He has incredibly huge and expressive eyes, a smile to die for, and fills at least 6 nappies a day.
I love to create, my current addiction is crochet and if I ever have a spare minute you can almost guarantee that I'll have a hook in my hand. I also like to sew, paint, embroider, and design pretty printables on the computer. At the moment I am a stay at home mum, working hard to achieve domestic diva status. Well, maybe not working quite hard enough... it's hard to do when you have a crochet hook in one hand and a baby in the other!! Not to mention the whirling dervish of a toddler who undoes all my work as I go! I blog about my family and our life. Be patient and indulge me in my mummy-blogging... while this blog was never intended to be such, my kids are kind of my life at the moment, and if it weren't for this blog, my baby brain would have zapped away a whole lot of the memories that are thankfully preserved here.
You can contact me via the comments function of this blog, or by the Contact Me button in my header. You will also notice some quick links to free printables I have designed, and crafty tutorial posts. I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks for stopping by, please take the time to say hello or leave a comment. I welcome discussion and like to know that I'm not always talking to myself. You can also find me on instagram and twitter as @zoeyjoyful.
Have a fabulous day!
